Chisinau, June 8. /MOLDPRES/- Three road bridges, which connect the Republic of Moldova and Romania will be modernized. Today, the MPs ratified three agreements with the Government of Romania to this end.
Thus, the Leușeni - Albita, Cahul - Oancea and Sculeni - Sculeni road bridges will be renovated. They were built between 1958 and 1964 and are currently in a deplorable condition. The technical expertise showed that all three bridges require rehabilitation work and replacement of some elements. Moreover, in the case of the Sculeni - Sculeni bridge, defects and degradations were found in the constructive elements.
According to the agreements, Romania will finance the modernization and maintenance of the bridges on its territory, and the Republic of Moldova will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the sections on its territory.
