Chisinau to host international conference on financial technologies
The Republic of Moldova will host for the first time an international conference dedicated to financial technologies, organized by the central banks of Moldova, Romania and France. The event will bring together international experts, decision-makers, and researchers to analyze the challenges and opportunities of applying emerging technologies in traditional financial markets.
The conference, New Technology for Old Markets, will take place on September 19, 2025, with both physical and online participation. The event aims to explore how innovative solutions like artificial intelligence and distributed ledger technologies can transform the financial infrastructure of emerging economies, contributing to the development of modern markets well-connected to global trends.
'Through this conference, we aim to facilitate dialogue between experts, practitioners, and decision-makers so that we can jointly build a financial ecosystem that leverages innovation while maintaining stability. It is a unique opportunity to bring together global expertise and local needs to build a more robust, efficient, and inclusive financial sector,' emphasizes Mihnea Constantinescu, Vice Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.
The event hosted in Chisinau will be the first in a series initiated by the National Bank of Moldova to promote the exchange of experience among financial specialists, while also serving as a forum for presenting and debating research papers submitted in advance by participants.
