
Tourism & Travel Expo 2025 inaugurated at Moldexpo
The 28th edition of Tourism & Travel Expo was inaugurated today at Moldexpo. The event will be open until 16 February and brings together over 100 companies from the tourism sector from countries such as the Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Romania and Ukraine.
For three days, residents and guests of the capital will be able to discover at the exhibition the traditional vacation destinations, as well as new tourist destinations, various holiday packages, family vacations, and a wide range of spa resorts.
Attending the event, Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan said that the Republic of Moldova remains an exceptional tourist destination.
"The potential that our country has in the field of tourism is much greater than what we have managed to achieve so far. Tourism is that element that enhances the wealth of a country," the minister said.
Romania is represented at the exhibition by 15 tourism companies. Tour operators are presenting new holiday programs for the summer of 2025, including destinations on the Black Sea coast, spa resorts, rest and sports in mountain areas.
Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Cristian-Leon Țurcanu said that tourists from the Republic of Moldova are always warmly welcomed in Romania and voiced hope that this trend will continue to develop.
Bulgaria 2025 tourist destinations are also presented at the exhibition. Visitors can choose one of the best spa resorts on the coast and in the mountains, tours, and excursions to historical and architectural sites. Bulgarian Ambassador to our country Maia Dobreva invited Moldovan tourists to discover the most beautiful sights in the country.From Ukraine, the City Hall of Chernivtsi is participating in the exhibition, promoting the unique attractions of Bukovina. For the first time, visitors can also find at Moldexpo a joint stand of the Czech Republic and Lithuania, countries with rich tourist destinations.
The exhibition offer is completed by the tourist attractions of the Republic of Moldova, which are promoted by local wineries, guesthouses, and tourism industry businesses.
This is the first international exhibition organized by Moldexpo this year. Moldexpo acting director Zinaida Popa invited all citizens to visit the exhibition to discover new holiday destinations.
The exhibition will be open until 16 February.
According to the National Statistics Bureau, in 2024, the number of visitors (tourists and excursionists), participants in tourism organized by travel agencies and tour operators, was 555.9 thousand people, or 10.4% more compared to 2023.
