Patronal feasts celebrated in 88 settlements of Moldova on Pentecost
The patronal feast is celebrated in 88 localities from 23 districts of Moldova on Pentecost. The police will be on duty to ensure public order and road traffic safety.
Thus, people are urged to prove decent behavior, responsibility and respect for the law. It is important not to drive under the influence of alcohol, to observe the legal speed limit and the traffic signs.
Pedestrians should cross the roadway properly and move along the shoulder. They should avoid alcohol consumption in public spaces and maintain quiet, supervise children and take care of personal belongings.
If needed, citizens should call the Emergency Service 112.
The Orthodox Christians on 8 June will celebrate the Feast of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, also known as Pentecost. This is one of the imperial feasts of the Orthodox Church, celebrated fifty days after Holy Easter. On Pentecost, people adorn their homes and yards with branches of linden, walnut, poplar or oak, in order to ward off evil and diseases.
