80 entrepreneurs received grants worth 22.3 million lei from government and European Union

80 local entrepreneurs accessed grants totaling 22.3 million lei from the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. The support provided will generate investments of over 42.1 million lei in the economy and will enable business development and the creation of new jobs. The grant recipients were announced today at an event organized in Chisinau.

The funds were awarded through several programs managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) and will be used to purchase high-performance equipment and digitalize processes.

Out of the total number of beneficiaries, 48 companies will receive support from the government, which allocated 16.3 million lei for this purpose. Another 29 companies are supported by the European Union with a total of 4.9 million lei through the European Union for Small and Medium Enterprises project. Additionally, three other companies are supported with 1.1 million lei through the Small Producers Support Program, part of the EU4Moldova: Local Communities initiative, financed by the EU and the Government of Germany.

The grants will allow the creation of at least 328 new jobs, in addition to the 375 jobs currently offered by beneficiary companies.

Present at the grant awarding event, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor said that the funds will materialize in modern equipment and digitalized processes, which will simplify and streamline company activities and generate more competitive products and services.

"We aim to have as many competitive businesses as possible in our country. The government is building an economic model based on added value, technology, and innovation. In this modernization process, we are not alone; we have reliable partners whom we thank. We want investments to pay off in the long term, and businesses to develop sustainably here, in the country," declared Doina Nistor.

The Deputy Prime Minister assured that resources and support for entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova will continuously grow.

ODA Director Vadim Codreanu encouraged grant recipients to also apply for other funding programs managed by the organization.

"Since the beginning of the year, around 300 grant contracts have been signed. In 2025, we hope to increase the number of grant beneficiaries by at least one-third, especially considering the additional resources allocated through the Budget Plus project," emphasized Vadim Codreanu.

Vasile Plămădeală, trade officer at the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova said that the EU will continue to support small and medium enterprises in our country, as they are the driving force of the national economy and an important pillar of the EU's Economic Growth Plan, worth 1.9 billion euros.

Since the beginning of the year, 300 local companies have received grants through ODA, totaling 120.8 million lei. This financial support will generate investments of over 232 million lei in the Moldovan economy.
