Final consumers were not affected by the damage to the Bălți–Dnestrovsk power line, caused by adverse weather conditions. The information was presented this morning by Moldelectrica, which is assessing the situation on the ground and has assured that repair works on the line will be carried out as a priority.

"Despite the damage, final consumers were not affected, and the continuity of power supply was ensured through the prompt reconfiguration of the operational scheme of the National Power System. Thanks to the swift intervention and technical measures taken by the specialists of the Moldelectrica state enterprise, interruptions in the electricity supply were avoided," Moldelectrica stated.

At the same time, according to the enterprise, immediately after the line was disconnected, Moldelectrica’s operative teams inspected the affected route and carried out a technical assessment of the damaged infrastructure, determining the extent of the damage and the measures needed to remedy it.

Today new pylons will be transported to the intervention site to replace the damaged elements.

"The restoration works on the 330 kV Bălți–Dnestrovsk overhead power line (OHL) will be carried out as a priority by the company’s specialized teams," Moldelectrica emphasized.

Several reinforced concrete pylons of the 330 kV Bălți–Dnestrovsk overhead power line were damaged yesterday evening and brought down to the ground as a result of severe weather phenomena recorded on 6 August 2026 in the northern area of the Republic of Moldova, characterized by wind gusts of up to 20 m/s (approximately 72 km/h) and heavy rainfall.
