Seed material of forage crops produced in Moldova to be able to be exported to EU countries #MoldovaCan
The Council of the European Union today adopted a decision providing Moldova equivalence with the European Union's requirements concerning field inspections and the standards of production of fodder crops’ seeds.
According to the decision adopted, the fodder crop seed material produced in Moldova can be officially certified by the national competent authority, the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) and exported to EU countries.
“The equivalence got confirms that the local seed material provides the same guarantees for seed characteristics, identification and control and the norms regarding field inspections as those applicable to seeds produced in the European community countries. This measure will enable producers of Moldova to diversify the variety of species cultivated for seed material production meant for export. At the same time, it will contribute to maintaining the community market's supply with high-quality seeds of Moldovan origin,” explains ANSA.
The approved decision is to be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
