
Freestyle wrestler Irina Terzi becomes European Vice-Champion
Freestyle wrestler Irina Terzi has become a European vice-champion. She won the silver medal at the European Championship for athletes under 17, held in Skopje, North Macedonia.
In the final of the 43 kg category, the athlete from Comrat was defeated by Rania Rakhmanova, with a score of 2-6. Before reaching the silver medal, Irina Terzi defeated Emine Beyza Barışkan from Turkey and Nurana Asadli, who competed under a neutral flag.
This is the third medal won by the Republic of Moldova at the current edition of the U-17 European Championships, following two distinctions in the Greco-Roman wrestling competition by Ignat Meico (silver) and Vadim Țarelunga (bronze).
Another representative of our country, Cristina Zaporojan, finished in fifth place in the 65 kg category, after losing the small final to Anastasia Komanava.
