Speaker assured by EU counterparts: Moldova - closer to European family
The Republic of Moldova - increasingly closer to the European family. This is the message received today by Speaker Igor Grosu during meetings with his counterparts from Denmark, Sweden, Slovakia, Montenegro and others.
'We discussed the daily challenges we face as well as future priorities in the negotiation process. The year 2025 will be full of challenges. We know that criminal groups will try once again to influence the elections and divert us from our European path. This is precisely why it is essential to invest in strong institutions, an independent judiciary, a solid economy, and energy security,' Grosu highlighted.
According to the official, 'even though the path is difficult, we are determined to do everything in our power to guarantee peace and safety, national stability and unity, economic development, and the well-being of all citizens.'
'The support and experience of member states are extremely valuable to us. We continue to rely on close cooperation in all fields,' he said.
Grosu participated in the EU Speakers Conference, held in Budapest, hosted by the Hungarian Parliament on 11-12 May.
