Moldova's authorities apostille 655 neutral model diplomas in past eight years
The competent national authorities have applied the apostille of Moldova on 655 neutral model diplomas owned by young people from the Transnistrian region, during almost eight years (March 28, 2018 - December 31, 2025), in accordance with the present legislation and the agreements made by the protocol decision On the Application of Apostille on Educational Documents from the Transnistrian Region from November 25, 2017
The European Union stays the main destination for continuing higher education abroad, followed by the United States of America, Israel and the United Kingdom (the annual dynamics and the top 10 destinations are presented in the infographic).
We remind that the apostille procedure does not signify the recognition of the status of a diploma, but is an administrative formality confirming the authenticity of the signature, the capacity in which the signatory acted, as well as the authenticity of the seal or stamp applied on the document. This procedure allows the use of the diploma on the territories of states party to the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961, Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents, which came into force for Moldova on March 16, 2007.
In the case of states that are not parties to the Hague Convention (for example, the United Arab Emirates) or those that have raised objections to Moldova's accession to this convention (for example, the Federal Republic of Germany), the procedure of legalization of diplomas is applicable.
