Evolution of Moldova's European integration path discussed with new ambassadors of Germany, China
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today had meetings with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Moldova Hubert Knirsch and Ambassador of the People's Republic of China Dong Zhihua.
The discussions focused primarily on the progress made by the country on the European path, as well as on bilateral relations and parliamentary diplomacy.
“On Monday, the government updated the National Programme for Accession to the European Union for the period 2025 - 2029. At the beginning of the next year, the legislative institution will complete the document with drafts aligning national legislation with EU standards, which we deem as necessary,” said parliament speaker at the discussion.
Igor Grosu also emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacities and efforts made to this end. “We have established a new commission - the Commission for European Integration, but we need empowerment at the level of all standing commissions,” added the speaker.
The officials also referred to the better cooperation both at the parliamentary level and in such fields as economy, education, energy, health and IT.
Igor Grosu thanked the ambassadors for the fact that the relations between our countries are based on mutual respect, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and expressed gratitude for the support provided over the years.
