Moldovan President attends event organized during Education Week

President Maia Sandu participated today in an event - Be Pro! Choose to Be a Teacher!, held during Education Week alongside over 3,000 high school graduates. The event is part of the national campaign to promote the teaching profession, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Research.

In her message, the President urged young people to choose a teaching career and build a future at home, in the Republic of Moldova. "We need good teachers everywhere. That's why we have doubled the scholarships for education studies from 1,600 to 3,460 lei, we pay a 200,000 lei allowance to young people who go to teach in the country's localities, and we reimburse their housing and utility costs, we are increasing teachers' salaries," said Maia Sandu.

The head of state thanked all those who choose to become teachers and lay the foundation for a generation of well-trained specialists. "We thank the teachers on whose immense dedication we all rely, but especially on whose goodwill and patience the future of this country is built," emphasized Maia Sandu.

The event aims to encourage young people to pursue a career in education and includes a series of events and activities organized in educational institutions throughout the country.
