Moldovan speaker condemned massive attacks on Ukraine

Speaker Igor Grosu strongly condemned the massive attacks launched by the Russian Federation on several regions in Ukraine, during the night of May 23 to 24.

In a post on his page, the official expressed condolences to the families of the victims and expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

“Last night was a difficult one for thousands of Ukrainian citizens. Over 300 drones and 60 missiles were launched on more than 30 cities and villages in Ukraine, in a massive and ruthless attack orchestrated by Kremlin regime,” Grosu said.

He said that the regions of Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, Chernihiv, Sumy, Odessa, Poltava, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy were severely affected by the bombings. Dozens of people were injured, and among the victims are children.

“Such atrocities can no longer continue. It is an unfair war, in which, day by day, innocent people are losing their lives,” Grosu added.

The Speaker reaffirmed the unconditional support of the Republic of Moldova for Ukraine. “The Republic of Moldova reaffirms its support for the Ukrainian people and full solidarity with Ukraine, in defending freedom, peace, and sovereignty,” concluded Grosu.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiga criticized Russia for the latest attacks against his country, resulting in 15 injured in Kyiv alone.

“A week has passed since Istanbul, and Russia has yet to send its peace memorandum. Instead, Russia sends deadly drones and missiles against civilians,” Sibiga said.
