President meets with leadership of Konrad Adenauer Foundation
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met today with Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, Chair of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), who is visiting Chișinău. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the consistent support provided by KAS to the Republic of Moldova over more than 16 years of partnership— from the strengthening of democratic institutions and civil society to contributions to the development of the National Security Strategy.
The officials exchanged views on the status of the Republic of Moldova’s accession process to the European Union and discussed the contribution that KAS programs and expertise can make at this stage, both at the technical level and through political support in Berlin, Brussels, and other European capitals.
The parties also addressed regional security, strengthening Moldova’s resilience and our country’s growing role as a provider of security in the region.
President Sandu voiced hope that Moldova will remain a priority for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in the coming period.
