In her speech, President Maia Sandu emphasized Moldova's firm determination to build its future within the European family: "Moldova and Ukraine must join the European Union not only because they naturally belong there, but also because Europe will be stronger, safer and more united by accepting those who fight for its values."

In discussions, the head of state addressed important topics for the citizens of Moldova, such as restoring peace in Europe, regional security, economic development, projects bringing tangible changes in Moldovans' lives and advancing the EU accession process. By the end of the day, the head of state is scheduled to meet with Ulf Kristersson, the Prime Minister of Sweden, and Friedrich Merz, the leader of Germany's Christian Democratic Party, expected to become Chancellor of Germany on May 6, 2025.
