More e-services and digital economy: Government approves new legislative amendments
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved amendments that will allow the development of new electronic services, promote digital economy and adapt the Republic of Moldova to global trends in the field.
One of the main provisions of the bill is to offer private people the possibility of withdrawing cash at commercial units with POS terminals when using bank cards. The amount will not exceed one thousand lei per transaction.
The use of virtual cash registers and the spread of electronic receipts are encouraged. Printing the receipt on physical support will no longer be mandatory when issued electronically.
Moreover, the activity of unified digital service contact centers for businesses (CUPS) is facilitated, and the range of support services for companies is extended. Further promotion of data exchange in digital format continues, to save time and resources for entrepreneurs.
The draft clarifies the legal regime of the digital nomad (a person who works remotely) in the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, from the perspective of taxation, migration, labor protection, as well as medical insurance. The mechanism for granting temporary residence permits for work purposes for foreigners in the information technology field (IT visa) is updated.
All the approved amendments aim to support the integration into the global market of producers of goods and digital services from the Republic of Moldova and increase the export through e-commerce platforms.
