Moldovan president to pay official visit to Poland, Council of Europe
President Maia Sandu will pay an official visit to Poland on 25–26 January, at an invitation by President Karol Nawrocki. The delegation will include Defence Minister Anatolie Nosatii and Culture Minister Cristian Jardan. In Warsaw, the head of state will have a meeting with the Polish President and the two heads of state will make press statements. President Maia Sandu will also meet Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Marshal of the Senate Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska and the Marshal of the Sejm of Poland Włodzimierz Czarzasty.
The meetings’ agenda includes bilateral cooperation, Moldova’s accession to the European Union and regional security.
From Warsaw, President Maia Sandu will travel to Strasbourg, where on January 27, she will deliver a speech during the plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). Moldova currently holds the Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, a mandate exercised as of 14 November 2025 till 15 May 2026.

In Strasbourg, the head of state will have more meetings, including with Petra Bayer, President of PACE, Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marta Cartabia, President of the Venice Commission, and Mattias Guyomar, President of the European Court of Human Rights.
Also, on January 27, the Moldovan president will attend the ceremony commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, alongside the Secretary General of the Council of Europe and the PACE President.
