Books from Moldova at Beijing International Book Fair; Moldovan ambassador to China says event opportunity for Chinese public to discover cultural identity of Moldova
Literature has become an important space for cultural dialogue and bringing nations closer together. Ambassador of Moldova to China Petru Frunze has made statements to this effect after his participation in the Beijing International Book Fair, one of the most important events dedicated to promoting the written culture and intercultural exchanges.
The Moldovan diplomat attended the event along with his family and highlighted the importance of the presence of literature from Moldova at this prestigious international fair.
A special moment of the visit was the stand organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute, where books by authors from Moldova, published by Cartier Publishing House, were also displayed. According to the ambassador, this presence givens the Chinese public the opportunity to discover works that show the values, traditions, historical memory and cultural identity of Moldova.
“Having literature from Moldova at this prestigious event offers the Chinese public the opportunity to discover works that reflect the values, traditions, historical memory, and cultural identity of Moldova. At the same time, many of the literary works presented highlight the shared cultural and linguistic heritage of Moldova and Romania, proving the role of literature in preserving and promoting the values that unite communities and generations of readers,” noted Petru Frunze.
The ambassador emphasized that literature stayed one of the most powerful tools for mutual understanding, contributing to building lasting bridges between cultures and strengthening dialogue, understanding and respect among peoples.
In the context, cultural and literary exchanges between Moldova and China play an important role in developing friendly relations and bringing the two societies closer together.
According to Petru Frunze, the participation in the Beijing International Book Fair confirms the importance of cultural diplomacy and cooperation in the field of literature, a sector that continues to bring together people, ideas and values from different corners of the world.
