Moldovan MPs convene at plenary meeting on June 18; 16 draft laws on agenda, of which five marked with EU logo

The MPs will convene at a plenary meeting on June 18. The lawmakers are set to examine 16 draft normative acts, including five initiatives marked with the European Union’s logo, which are part of the process of aligning national legislation with the EU acquis.

According to the agenda approved by parliament’s standing bureau, the draft laws concern such areas as the rights of unemployed persons who travel to EU member states, the European Economic Area and the states that are signatories to the Schengen Agreement, as well as the rights of their family members.

The meeting’s agenda also includes initiatives on adequate minimum wages, the comparability of fees related to payment accounts and access to basic banking services, as well as amendments to the Law on Financial Collateral Arrangements and to the framework governing the administration of public roads.

The parliament will also examine morel international agreements, including a loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as an amendment on the automatic exchange of financial information. The list also includes international conventions in the maritime field, aimed at contributing to environmental protection and navigation safety.

Other draft laws concern facilitating the installation of electricity storage systems, the creation of natural gas reserves, children’s protection, animals’ identification and the appointment of a vice president of the National Agency for Settlement of Complaints.
