Moldovan president attends ceremony on 24th anniversary of foundation of National Anticorruption Centre
President Maia Sandu today took part in a ceremony marking the 24th anniversary of the foundation of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA). At the event, the head of state delivered a message of appreciation to the institution’s employees for their contribution to strengthening the rule of law, combating corruption and protecting democracy.
In her speech, the Moldovan president thanked the CNA team for their work during a period marked by unprecedented challenges for Moldova, including attempts at electoral bribery, illegal financing of political activities and attacks on democratic processes.
“The CNA has been on the front line of efforts to dismantle the networks behind these criminal activities,” the president emphasized.
Referring to Moldova’s European path, the head of state highlighted the CNA’s contribution to the screening process and to the implementation of the reforms required for accession to the European Union.
In conclusion, President Maia Sandu expressed confidence in the professionalism of CNA employees and in the institution’s ability to continue contributing to the protection of democracy.
“Today, Moldova is stronger than it was a few years ago. More resilient. More determined to defend its democracy and to follow its European path. I trust the professionalism and dedication of those who work in this institution. Moldova continues to rely on you,” the head of state added.
