Speaker paid working visit to Strășeni district and discussed local development projects

Speaker Igor Grosu paid a working visit to Strășeni district. He discussed with representatives of local authorities the implemented infrastructure and modernization projects, as well as the plans set for the upcoming period.

He noted that Strășeni district is an example of development, as each locality already has at least two implemented projects. With the support of the Government, town halls, and external partners, water and sewage networks have been extended in the localities of Zubrești, Lozova, and Ghelăuza. In Sireți, a photovoltaic park has been built, while in the villages of Dolna, Rădeni, Onești, and Scoreni street lighting has been modernized. At the same time, kindergartens in Bucovăț, Cojușna, and Strășeni have been renovated, and cultural centers in Roșcani, Micleușeni, and Chirianca have been rehabilitated. In this context, discussions also focused on the plans of local public authorities for the European Village 3 program.

"We can expect even larger investments in the future. It is important to increase our capacity to absorb funds and to stay the course," Grosu said.

The working visit continued in the village of Gălești in Strășeni district. In recent years, the locality has benefited from several important projects aimed at improving citizens’ living conditions. The wastewater treatment plant is also being modernized, a project financed in part by the Austrian Development Agency.

Investments have also targeted the education sector. The kindergarten in Gălești has been modernized through the European Village 2 program. Following renovation and energy efficiency works, the early education institution now pays twice less for energy.

In total, seven kindergartens have been modernized in Strășeni district, and another seven nursery groups have been created or renovated.

Another project implemented in Gălești is Europe is Near, which provides for the construction of a new local road. In total, ten local roads will be repaired in Strășeni district through this program.

"I am glad that we have such examples of development, and we will continue to invest so that our villages have decent living conditions," concluded Grosu.
