Moldovan PM inspects works of construction of Ungheni Bridge
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu has inspected the construction work on the new bridge at Ungheni, also known as the Bridge of Flowers. The construction started on April 26, 2025, with a total project value of 33 million euros.
"The Ungheni Bridge is a symbolic and strategic project for Moldova. It will be the first bridge constructed in over 60 years across the Prut River. The project is progressing according to plan, and our goal is for the bridge to be operational by the end of next year. This bridge will connect Moldova to the future A8 Highway - Targu Mureș - Iasi - Ungheni - Chisinau and integrate us into the European transport network," highlighted the prime minister.
The bridge will be 261 meters long and will consist of two parallel bridges, each with two lanes in each direction and sidewalks.
At the same time, we have already initiated feasibility studies for four other bridges across the Prut, which will connect regional economic corridors.
