Moldova, Romania united to face challenges

Today, on Mărțișor, President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu hosted interim President of Romania Ilie Bolojan in Chișinău. The meeting reaffirmed the profound relationship between the two countries and their joint commitment to a secure and prosperous European future.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in essential fields such as infrastructure, energy, education and security, as well as regional security and joint efforts to protect democracy to current challenges. "We have a shared responsibility: to maintain peace and freedom, to ensure people a safe and prosperous future. To give them the confidence that their work, hope and choices will not be derailed," Maia Sandu said.

The meeting took place in a context marked by regional insecurity, and both officials emphasized the importance of close cooperation to protect democratic values and ensure regional stability.

"The security of the Republic of Moldova is also the security of Romania, and the security of Romania is the security of the Republic of Moldova," Maia Sandu said.

Today's meeting reconfirmed the strategic partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, based on a common history, solidarity and a shared vision for a future of peace, freedom and development.
