Moldova, Israel signed new cooperation document
The Republic of Moldova and the State of Israel have signed in Jerusalem an Agreement on legal cooperation in civil and commercial matters, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and facilitating the efficient resolution of court cases between the two states.
The document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi and his Israeli counterpart, Yariv Levin, Minister of Justice. The event took place during an official meeting held in Jerusalem.
According to the agreement, the courts in both countries will benefit from a clear legal framework for collaboration, including the possibility to transmit requests for legal assistance, to obtain evidence, to notify and communicate legal and extrajudicial documents, as well as to enforce judgments issued by the courts of the other state.
“This agreement will contribute to the faster and more efficient resolution of civil and commercial cases between the two states. At the same time, it will allow the courts of the Republic of Moldova and Israel to collaborate directly, to transmit requests for obtaining evidence, to notify legal documents, and to enforce judgments,” said Popșoi.
The signing of the treaty represents an important step in deepening Moldovan-Israeli cooperation and supporting the rule of law in an international context.
