President Maia Sandu inaugurated Education Week, the beginning of events dedicated to the most important initiatives in the field, attended by teachers, students, parents, youth workers, representatives from the public and private sectors, civil society, development partners, as well as national and international experts.

“I am glad to be here with you today, at the start of a series of events where we discuss the future of the Republic of Moldova - because that's what education is about: about what comes next, about what we leave behind and what we build for the future. Our educational system is undergoing a period of transformation. We invest in people, in schools. But above all, we invest in our collective capacity to shape free, balanced, resilient citizens,” said the Head of State.

Maia Sandu also stated that in recent years, the authorities have made significant investments in educational infrastructure: over 200 schools and kindergartens renovated through the European Village program, dozens of new school buses, equipped laboratories, and modern learning spaces, but the most important investment remains in people: in teachers who have patience and dedication, in young people who choose to become educators, in mentors who support new generations.

The Head of State thanked the teachers for their dedication, professionalism, and daily efforts in education.

“In this mission of transformation, you are the ones who make the difference. You are the ones who ignite curiosity every day, keeping the desire to learn alive. I know it's not easy. I know there are challenges. But I also know that in every classroom, in every school, in every village and city, there are people who change destinies through the power of example and their devotion. Thank you for this tireless work. I encourage you to remain connected, courageous, demanding - with yourselves and with the system. With confidence and solidarity, we can make education the force that modernizes Moldova,” concluded Maia Sandu.

Education Week is organized for the second consecutive year by the Ministry of Education and Research and will take place on May 22–25 in various locations in Chișinău.
