Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed Moldova's commitment in fight against anti-semitism and discrimination

Moldova's firm commitment to fight against anti-semitism, intolerance, and discrimination of any kind was reaffirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi at the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism, organized by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Yad Vashem.

The Moldovan official emphasized the importance of the contribution of Jews from Moldova to the development of our society and highlighted the role of historical education and the commemoration of the tragedy and victims of the Holocaust.

Among the actions undertaken by Chisinau authorities in this area are the implementation of the National Strategy for preventing and combating anti-Semitism and Holocaust denial; the introduction of Holocaust education in the school curriculum and cooperation with Jewish organizations and international partners to promote memory and combat hate speech.

Mihai Popșoi reaffirmed Moldova's commitment to remain active in global efforts to combat anti-Semitism and called for international solidarity in defending democratic values and fundamental human rights.

Additionally, Minister Popșoi urged the international community to show solidarity and called for the immediate and unconditional release of Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas.

Popșoi is paying a working visit to the State of Israel on May 27-29.
