Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri has paid a working visit to the south-eastern Causeni district, where he met the mayors of localities located in the perimeter of the Security Zone (SZ). The discussions focused on identifying solutions to strengthen the capacities of local public administrations, improve public services provided to citizens, including the people on the left bank of the Dniester, as well as the implementation of development projects and their impact on the multilateral development of the regional area.

“We want developed communities, equipped with modern infrastructure, which provide optimal conditions for education, healthcare and economic activities. Each settlement must benefit from functional and efficient facilities, so that people have access to quality services and real development opportunities,” underlined the deputy PM in his dialogue with the mayors.

During the meeting with the head of the Causeni district, Alexandru Catan, the work of the central public administration was commended, as well as the measures taken to address requests coming from settlements located in the Security Zone. The interlocutors agreed on the need to coordinate efforts and maintain constant dialogue, in order to support the implementation of the district’s social and economic development priorities.

In order to get first-hand information about local achievements and prospects, the deputy prime minister went to the village of Hagimus, where he visited the local kindergarten, the fruit-growing association area along the Tighina–Merenesti route, and the water pumping station, assessing the needs for modernization and operation of the present infrastructure.

The visit’s agenda also included a trip to the locality of Copanca, where he visited the Romanian-language gymnasium, the electricity interconnection node, and the natural gas distribution point. Following the on-site assessment, Valeriu Chiveri emphasized the strategic importance of this facility in ensuring a stable and secure supply of natural gas in the region.

It should be noted that, during the period 2011–2025, the settlements in Causeni district located in the Security Zone benefited from projects financed through the country’s reintegration activity programmes. In total, 79 projects have been successfully implemented, with a total value of 21.54 million lei.
