DOC // Vasile Popa and Vitalie Lupașcu released from leadership positions at State Protection and Guard Service
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu has signed decrees on dismissal of Director of the State Protection and Guard Service (SPGS) Vasile Popa and Deputy Director Vitalie Lupașcu.
According to official documents, the resignations were accepted based on submitted requests, and the dismissals are effective from 11 November 2025.
The State Protection and Guard Service is the institution responsible for the protection of state dignitaries, diplomatic missions and other nationally important objectives. So far, no announcements have been made regarding interim appointments for the institution's leadership.
