Interior Minister: We work together to ensure good conduct of fall parliamentary elections
Law enforcement institutions and those responsible for the electoral process are working together to ensure a good conduct of the parliamentary elections this fall. Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Misail-Nichitin made the statement on a Radio Moldova broadcast.
The official said that the authorities anticipate that risks might boost in the context of the elections, considering possible destabilization actions, protests, and disinformation. The Minister emphasized that state institutions are prepared to intervene.
"We work together, all law enforcement institutions and those responsible for the electoral process, to ensure a good conduct of the election and, of course, to reduce any risk, including the risk of election result manipulation. We are preparing because the risks will step up. Obviously, we are prepared for foreign interference actions, disinformation, public opinion manipulation. We are prepared. We can also expect destabilization actions or organized protests. All these risks are evident in the context of an electoral year. They have one single purpose — to change the European vector through a different parliamentary composition," said the Minister.
Daniella Misail-Nichitin stated that the police are monitoring all actions that can bring destabilization or contribute to scenarios similar to those documented in previous elections.
On 28 September 2025, parliamentary elections will be held in the Republic of Moldova.
