
Moldova's ambassador in Budapest presents credentials to Hungary's president
Moldova's Ambassador to Hungary Mihail Barbulat has presented his letters of accreditation to Hungary's President Tamás Sulyok. The event took place during an official ceremony held at the Sándor Palace.
According to the Embassy of Moldova in Hungary, the two officials exchanged opinions on the stages and prospects of bilateral relations, highlighting the upward trend of the political and diplomatic dialogue between Moldova and Hungary.
The discussions also focused on strengthening the economic cooperation, expanding institutional collaboration and boosting the Moldovan-Hungarian Strategic Partnership, with a particular emphasis on Moldova's European integration process.
President Tamás Sulyok reconfirmed “Hungary’s strong support for Moldova’s European path and his country’s commitment to support the EU enlargement process.”
For his part, Ambassador Mihail Barbulat expressed his gratitude for the “support provided by the Hungarian side and emphasized the interest of the Moldovan authorities to strengthen the exchange of expertise and conduct training programs for public officials in areas relevant to European integration.”
In the end, Ambassador Mihail Barbulat reiterated his commitment to actively contribute to the development of the political, economic, social and cultural relations between Moldova and Hungary, while promoting new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.
In the context, the president of Hungary assured the full willingness of the Hungarian authorities to support the activity of the new ambassador and to facilitate the successful fulfillment of his mandate in Budapest.
The accreditation ceremony was followed by the laying of a wreath of flowers on Heroes' Square in Budapest.
