President condemns massive drone attack on Ukraine
President Maia Sandu condemns the massive drone attack launched by Russia against Ukraine, during which the airspace of our country was also violated.
In this context, the head of state reiterated that pressure on Russia must not weaken.
“More than 1,560 drones launched – one of the longest and most massive Russian attacks on Ukraine. The airspace of the Republic of Moldova was violated. Russia is not seeking to end the war; it is continuing its series of crimes. Pressure on Russia must not weaken,” Maia Sandu declared.
In the last 24 hours, over 1,560 drones were used by the Russian army against localities in Ukraine. Just last night, Russia launched over 670 attack drones and 56 missiles against the neighboring country, with the capital Kyiv as the main target.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that five people were killed in Kyiv, including a 12-year-old girl. According to him, another seven people were injured in the Kyiv region, and in Kharkiv the number of wounded reached 28. In addition, two people were injured in Odesa region. Zelensky said that search and rescue operations are continuing in the Darnytsia district of Kyiv, where rescuers are trying to find people under the rubble of a building damaged in the attack. “More than 10 people are considered missing,” the Ukrainian leader wrote.
Zelensky said that the attacks will receive “a just response” and called on the international community to continue exerting pressure on Moscow and to support Ukraine.
