Moldova through Interinstitutional Supervisory Council imposed sanctions on 21 individuals

The Republic of Moldova, through the Interinstitutional Supervisory Council led by Prime Minister Dorin Recean has so far imposed sanctions on 21 persons.

Recean announced this morning that the targeted individuals are Vladimir Plahotniuc, Ilan Shor, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, Marina Tauber, Andronachi Vladimir, Platon Veaceslav, Botnari Constantin, Kalinin Alexandr (citizenship revoked), Caramalac Grigore, Chiril Guzun, Arina Corșicova, Dumitru Chitoroagă, Maria Albot, Victor Petrov, Evghenia Guțul, Iurii Cuznetov, Nelli Parutenco, Ilia Uzun, Mihail Vlah, Anatolii Prizenko, Parasca Natalia.

In this context, in 2024 - June 2025, the State Tax Service issued 121 decisions: 60 bank accounts, 3 payment accounts, 64,995 shares (worth 12,980,394 lei), 24 portions of share capital (worth 44,747,935 lei), 76 real estate properties and 12 means of transport were blocked. Additionally, 38 activities/transactions (worth 3,742,499 lei and 135,540 euros) were suspended.

“For instance, currently Vladimir Plahotniuc has 11 bank accounts blocked and 100% of the social capital of GMG. Ilan Shor has 9 blocked accounts and 1 payment operation, as well as funds held through intermediaries within the controlled legal entity, associate share - the Public Association for Orhei, 3 premises, 1 land plot, 2 constructions, 2 means of transport. Marina Tauber has 64,860 shares blocked held at a banking institution with a nominal value of 200 lei, 8 bank accounts, 2 premises, shares worth 8,258.96 lei. Vladimir Andronachi has 9 blocked bank accounts, shares blocked worth 8,258.96 lei, 48% of the social capital of a limited liability company,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

 

Currently, Vladimir Plahotniuc is internationally wanted in 196 countries that are part of Interpol, Veaceslav Platon is imprisoned in the United Kingdom, and Ilan Shor has been convicted with execution and is a fugitive.

The Interinstitutional Supervisory Council is a collegial body created to ensure the general framework of cooperation in implementing international restrictive measures in the Republic of Moldova and introducing such measures voluntarily by the Republic of Moldova.
