When Chisinau, Kyiv and Bucharest act together, we can build more than infrastructure or joint projects – we can provide safety to our people, hope for a peaceful future and a clear path towards a united, free and democratic Europe. President Maia Sandu has made statements to this effect. She today participated in a trilateral meeting of the presidents of Moldova, Romania and Ukraine, held on the sidelines of the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit, organized in Odessa.

Maia Sandu said that the countries of the region had met in Odesa to show their firm support for Ukraine, which is fighting not only for its freedom, but also for our common peace.

"In Odessa, on the sidelines of the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit, I had a trilateral meeting with the Presidents of Ukraine and Romania. The countries of the region assembled here to show their firm support for Ukraine, which is fighting not only for its freedom, but also for our common peace," Maia Sandu said.

The Moldovan president also said that she had discussed with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of Romania Nicusor Dan how the three states can build resilience against external threats, about how energy interconnections, strategic investments and economic ties make us stronger and more united.

"Together with Volodymyr Zelensky and Nicusor Dan, we talked about how to build our resilience against external threats. About how energy interconnections, strategic investments, and economic ties make us stronger and more united. And about how regional cooperation can be a real shield for our citizens," concluded Maia Sandu.

President of Romania Nicusor Dan paid a visit to Chișinău on 10 June. Subsequently, the Bucharest-based Presidential Administration informed that Nicusor Dan on 11 June would participate in the fourth Ukraine - Southeast Europe Summit and a trilateral meeting Romania - Moldova – Ukraine. At the event, he will discuss with his counterparts the most important interconnection projects, particularly in energy infrastructure, the process of EU accession and security cooperation.
