Alegeri parlamentare 2025

Moldovan Central Electoral Commission introduces electronic voter lists at 30 polling stations in Moldova, abroad

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has informed that, to streamline the voting process for the parliamentary elections due on September 28, both paper-based and electronic voter lists would be used simultaneously at 30 polling stations in Moldova and abroad.

The electronic registration of voters will be carried out via digital tablets. Thus, each voter will present his/her identity document to the polling station’s operator, and after verification in the system, will sign on the tablet, thereby confirming the presence at the vote.

According to the CEC, the digital tablets will help reduce the time required for voting and decrease congestion in polling stations, especially those abroad, where big queues are usually recorded.
