Over 3,400 observers to monitor parliamentary elections due in Moldova on September 28

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has informed that the September 28 parliamentary election would be monitored by 3,423 observers accredited.

A number of 2,496 out of them are national observers, appointed by eight civic associations of the country. Most observers were accredited at a request by the Promo-LEX Association and the Union of Jurists of Moldova.

At the same time, 912 international observers will monitor the electoral process. They represent 22 diplomatic missions accredited in Moldova (149 people), 15 foreign electoral authorities (28 people) and 12 international associations (269 people). The OSCE/ODIHR (Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights) observation mission will be present with 272 observers, while other monitors will come from the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (8 people), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (3 people), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (28 people), the European Parliament (14 people), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (118 people), the Ukrainian parliament (15 people) and the International Organization of la Francophonie (8 people).

Also, more national observers were accredited by the district electoral councils.
