Moldovan parliament to convene at plenary meeting on December 18; standing bureau approves supplement to agenda

The MPs will convene at a plenary meeting on December 18 starting from 10:00. The parliament's standing bureau today approved the supplement to the agenda of the plenary meetings scheduled for this week.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the lawmakers are set to discuss four drafts aimed at harmonizing national legislation with European Union standards. They include draft on remedies and appeals in public procurement contracts, sectoral and concession contracts; the delimitation of the regime of warehousing and production in free zones; the regime of civil-use explosives; and the draft amending the Contravention Code, which targets commercial activities with illicit devices. The agenda also includes a draft providing a salary cap for leaders of certain autonomous public authorities.

At the same time, the deputies will review, in the first reading, drafts aimed at simplifying business operations, enhancing transparency in the administration of the judiciary and prosecution systems, and strengthening the integrity of judges handling corruption cases.

Also, the parliamentarians will examine a draft decision on the appointment of Uliana Badarau as a member of the Court of Accounts and a draft concerning the establishment of a special parliamentary commission for monitoring and parliamentary control over the implementation of Moldova's reintegration policy.
