Speaker Igor Grosu had an official meeting with North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall. During this meeting, topics concerning the strengthening of the partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the American state were discussed - a collaboration that has lasted for over 25 years.

Igor Grosu emphasized that the partnership, launched in 1999, has developed into a “very special and long-lasting relationship,” with direct benefits for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova. The cooperation includes student exchange programs, medical training, humanitarian assistance, exchange of expertise, and military preparedness exercises.

During the visit, the speaker awarded the Civic Merit medal to Eleonora Sinigur, responsible for international relations at the North Carolina Secretary of State's Office, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to promoting and developing the Moldovan-American partnership.

Igor Grosu noted that these bilateral ties will continue to expand, prioritizing projects that support education, health and security of citizens.

In North Carolina, the speaker also held meetings with the diaspora.

Grosu is on a working visit to the United States on December 2-10.
