Moldovan Speaker attends EU Speakers' Conference in Copenhagen

Speaker Igor Grosu is on an official visit to Denmark, where he is participating in the EU Speakers' Conference. The event serves as a strategic platform for strengthening political dialogue and advancing our country’s European agenda.

Royal opening and strategic discussions

The official visit began with a prestigious event hosted by His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark, attended by several European counterparts of the head of the legislature in Chișinău.

The agenda of the Copenhagen meeting focuses on topics of major current importance for the entire continent:

European security: Analyzing current challenges and measures to protect democratic values.

Parliamentary cooperation: Intensifying dialogue between the legislative bodies of EU member states and those aspiring to join.

Moldova’s European path: Detailed discussions on the reforms implemented by the Republic of Moldova and the progress achieved in the integration process.

Moldova, an essential partner for European stability

Igor Grosu emphasized the importance of the Republic of Moldova’s presence on such international platforms, considering them crucial opportunities to promote national interests. The Speaker of Parliament underlined that Moldova’s accession to the European Union is a project of major importance, with dual benefits: it provides prosperity and security for Moldovan citizens and contributes significantly to the stability of the whole of Europe.

The two-day visit of the Moldovan official reconfirms our country’s firm commitment to the democratic path and its desire to contribute actively to the European security and cooperation architecture.
