Speaker invites citizens to Sovereignty March

Speaker Igor Grosu delivered a message on the  35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova and invited citizens to Sovereignty March.

"It has been a challenging journey with many obstacles. Over all these years, we Moldovans have shown through voting, hard work, and love for our country that we desire a prosperous and peaceful life here, at home, and to leave our children a free, independent, and secure country," said Grosu.

On this occasion, the speaker extended a public invitation for 23 June at 7:00 PM, at the monument of Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici on Alexei Mateevici Street, to celebrate sovereignty together.

Previously President Maia Sandu also invited citizens to the Sovereignty March, due on 23 June 2025 to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Sovereignty.

"I invite you to the Sovereignty March to celebrate the courage of our predecessors and our shared aspiration for a free and dignified life in Moldova," said Maia Sandu.

The Declaration of Sovereignty was adopted by the Parliament of Chisinau on 23 June 1990. The document emphasizes the unitary and indivisible character of the state.

The Declaration of Sovereignty served as the foundation for drafting the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova.
