ANI discovered unjustified assets of nearly 3 million lei for two officials
The National Integrity Authority (ANI) has identified unjustified assets totaling over 2.8 million lei in the case of two officials. ANI inspectors have also ordered the termination of employment for the individuals involved.
According to ANI, a former head of a Section within the Customs Service, her partner and family members held unjustified assets of 2,296,348 lei, a discrepancy noted between earned income, expenses incurred, and assets owned during the years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2023.
Moreover, ANI discovered a substantial discrepancy between the assets owned and the income earned by a mayor for 18 November 2019 - 30 May 2025, amounting to 569,786 lei.
The findings will be sent to the courts for examination and ordering the confiscation of unjustified assets. ANI inspectors have also ordered the termination of employment or mandate for the individuals involved.
The subjects of the declaration will be disqualified from holding certain positions and registered in the State Registry of individuals prohibited from holding positions.
