Logistic routes blocked in southern Ukraine following recent attacks; shipments, including humanitarian aid, to be diverted through Moldova

The National Crisis Management Center (CNMC) has announced that, following recent and increasingly intense attacks on critical infrastructure and transport in southern Ukraine, a portion of the goods transport flows would be temporarily redirected through Moldova.

According to the CNMC, the bombing of the bridge on the Odesa–Reni route, which crosses the Dniester River, has led to the deterioration and blocking of essential logistics routes. In these circumstances, even trucks with vital goods and humanitarian aid will transit through Moldova, in order to ensure a continued supply to populations affected by the war.

Authorities emphasize that the transit of these shipments is necessary, in order to maintain the work of logistical chains and to avoid serious humanitarian and economic consequences in the region. The complete blockage of routes could have a direct impact on the situation in southern Ukraine.

The Moldovan government informs that it supports this regional solidarity effort, within its capabilities, through the coordinated mobilization of responsible institutions. Under CNMC’s coordination, the Border Police Inspectorate, Customs Service, Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, National Auto Transport Agency, General Police Inspectorate, General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and other relevant authorities are involved.

Authorities ensure the controlled management of transport flows, enforcement of customs and security procedures and ongoing cooperation with the Ukrainian side, in order to prevent major blockages and reduce the impact on domestic traffic. At the same time, measures are being taken to protect roads’ infrastructure, maintain public order and secure the border.

To support affected Ukrainian citizens, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations has set up a temporary mobile camp near the Palanca–Maiaki–Udobnoe border crossing point, where humanitarian support and essential assistance are provided.

CNMC specifies that the situation is continually monitored and measures are adjusted according to regional developments, in order to provide effective and responsible support.
