PHOTO // Government Program DOR de traditii: 40 diaspora children discover national culture and winter holiday traditions

A number of 40 children of diaspora are participating in the second edition of the Government Program DOR de traditii, held on 24-29 December. During the six-day camp, participants will engage in cultural and creative activities designed to offer them a memorable experience and familiarize them with winter holiday traditions.

The program is attended by children and young people aged between 12 and 17, living abroad, descendants of families originally from the Republic of Moldova. In this year's edition, 40 children from the diaspora were selected, coming from France, Ireland, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, and Norway. They were welcomed by the Diaspora Relations Bureau team, along with the trainers involved in organizing the camp.

The main goal of the program is to bring diaspora children closer to the traditions, values, and national culture through a series of educational and interactive activities. These contribute to strengthening the connections to the cultural roots of the Republic of Moldova and facilitate the transmission of authentic traditions from generation to generation.

The program includes meetings with popular craftsmen, visits to museums, creative workshops, as well as interactions with children from different localities of the country.

The Program addresses the growing interest of diaspora communities in maintaining their connection with the Republic of Moldova and preserving national values. Through this initiative, diaspora children and young people have the opportunity to rediscover the essence of traditions from their country of origin and reconnect with the cultural heritage of the Republic of Moldova.

The first edition of Program took place at the end of December 2024.
