New commemorative coins to be released by BNM
As of today, the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) is launching two new commemorative coins into the numismatic circuit: “Petre Teodorovici – 75 years since birth” and “80 years since the founding of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy 'Nicolae Testemițanu'.
According to BNM, the coin “Petre Teodorovici – 75 years since birth” is part of the “Personalities” series and is dedicated to the famous composer and light music performer, Emeritus Master in Arts and holder of the Labour Glory Order. The coin is crafted in silver, has a nominal value of 50 lei and a mintage of 500 units, with the design created by Eugeniu Boico.
The second coin, part of the “Others” series, marks 80 years since the founding of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemițanu”, a benchmark institution in training doctors and pharmacists to European standards. This coin, also in silver, has a nominal value of 50 lei and a mintage of 1000 units, with the design by Svetlana Mînăscurtă.
The public can purchase the coins directly from BNM, through online requests on the official website in the “Currency” section, or through licensed banks, which may set a sales price with a markup of up to 3% compared to the level set by BNM.
