EcoContact sets up guide containing behavior rules in protected natural areas of Moldova

Visitors to the protected natural areas in the Republic of Moldova are invited to follow a guide to protect the environment and biodiversity. It was set up by the NGO EcoContact and emphasizes that each entry into a park or reserve represents an encounter with a living ecosystem, where every plant, bird, or spring plays an important role.

“Do not leave trash and do not damage vegetation or fauna; do not light fires in unauthorized places and do not disturb wildlife; use the designated trails and areas for visiting; respect the administrative-ecological guidelines and signs; responsibly engage in educational or volunteer activities for nature protection. Respect and care for nature are essential. Common sense tells us to leave only our footprints behind,” the edition indicates.

The guide is part of the project Improving the management of protected areas in the Republic of Moldova, funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and implemented by Biotica Ecological Society and EcoContact, which supports the sustainable management of protected areas and the involvement of local communities.

The project is being applied in three major protected areas: Orheiul Vechi Cultural-Natural Reserve, Codrii Natural Reserve and Nistrul de Jos National Park, where the guide will be available to visitors to encourage responsible behaviors and environmental protection.
