Last plenary meeting of 2025 to take place on December 29; Moldovan MPs to discuss budget, drafts on alignment with EU
The MPs will on December 29 will convene at the last plenary meeting of the 2025 autumn session. The parliament’s standing bureau today approved a decision to this end. The lawmakers are set to return to the session hall in next February.
At the meeting, the deputies will examine, in the second reading, the draft state budget law, the state social insurances budget law and the compulsory health insurance funds law for the 2026 year.
The agenda also includes more legislative drafts aimed at aligning national legislation with the European Union’s one. They regard the public procurement, volunteer activities, mediation and the status of mediators, as well as the prevention and combating of sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
Also, in the second reading, the MPs will discuss legislative initiatives regarding the unified salary payment system in the public sector, the optimization of procedures for issuing permissive documents, simplification of business activities, modification of the Urban Planning and Construction Code, enhancing transparency in the judicial and prosecutorial systems and granting customs facilities for citizens returning to live in Moldova.
At the same time, the lawmakers are to examine, in the first reading, draft laws concerning the import of certain means of transport, amendment of the Youth Law, and ratification of the Agreement on Legal Cooperation in Civil and Commercial Matters between Moldova and the State of Israel.
According to the Parliament's Rules, the autumn session is held as of September till December, while the spring session takes place starting from February until July.
