
Earthquake of 5.8 degrees felt in Moldova
Chisinau, 28 October /MOLDPRES/ – A earthquake of magnitude 5.8 on Richter scale was felt last night in Moldova. The earthquake occurred in Romania and lasted 38 seconds.
According to the National Institute for Research and Development for Earth Physics in Bucharest (Romania), the earthquake occurred at 03:38:10, the time of Moldova. The earthquake occurred in Vrancea seismic area, Buzau county, at a depth of 150 km.
The earthquake was followed by a response of 3.1 on Richter scale, but not felt in Moldova. The intensity of the earthquake in the epicentral area was VI degrees Mercalli and felt in Bulgaria, Moldova and border with Ukraine.
