Moldovan-American cooperation discussed in Chișinău
The strengthening of Moldovan-American cooperation in areas of strategic interest, with a focus on democratic reforms, energy security, cybersecurity and continued support for Moldova's European path were the topics discussed during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi and new acting chargé d'affaires of the United States in Moldova Nick Pietrowicz.
According to a statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two officials also addressed current issues, such as the risks posed by potential foreign interference and the importance of organizing free and fair elections this year.
“The partnership with the United States has resulted in concrete outcomes, especially concerning security and institutional resilience. The US has supported us at key moments, and this support remains essential,” said Popșoi.
Nick Pietrowicz appreciated the progress made by Moldova and reaffirmed the firm support of the United States for ongoing reforms and strengthening of the rule of law.
