Three investors from localities in Security Zone to build wind farms

Three investors from localities in the Security Zone will build wind farms in the villages of Talmaza, Purcari and Răscăieți, Ștefan Vodă district, as well as in Dubăsarii Vechi, Criuleni district. The government has approved the tender results for granting eligible producer status to investors developing photovoltaic and wind power plants in the country.

According to the Reintegration Policy Office, by putting the green energy production units into operation, about 8.4% of the annual electricity consumption of the Republic of Moldova will be ensured.

"This essential contribution will lead to strengthening national energy security, reducing CO₂ emissions and creating a cleaner and more sustainable environment. At the same time, the development of renewable sources will attract private investments estimated at over 190 million euros, directly contributing to local economic development," the institution communicated.

During the construction phase of green energy plants, about 400 jobs will be created, and another approximately 40 for the operation and maintenance of the installations.

"The Government's initiative reflects the commitment to promote a sustainable, modern and competitive energy sector, with direct benefits for communities in the Security Zone," the institution said.

The tenders aimed at developing 105 MW wind capacity and 60 MW photovoltaic capacity for electricity production. Out of the 44 bids submitted, 11 were selected as winners, covering the maximum auctioned capacity.
