President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso. The discussions focused on stimulating economic growth, attracting investments, and leveraging the opportunities offered by the European Union's Growth Plan, in the context of Moldova's advancement toward European integration.

Maia Sandu expressed gratitude for the EBRD's constant commitment and for the increase in investments in the Republic of Moldova over the past four years. The head of state reiterated the authorities' commitment to creating a predictable and transparent business environment to attract foreign investments into the Moldovan economy.

So far, the EBRD has invested nearly 2.9 billion euros in 193 projects in the Republic of Moldova, of which 1.7 billion euros have been allocated since 2022. About 40% of the EBRD's portfolio is directed towards infrastructure, and investments in energy, connectivity, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises aim to directly contribute to sustainable economic growth and enhance Moldova's European path.
