Moldovan parliament speaker: dozens of projects for Stefan Voda district, investments bringing Moldova closer to Europe

Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has announced the acceleration of local development projects in the south-eastern Stefan Voda district, following discussions with mayors and representatives of decentralized services in the territory. According to him, central and local authorities aim to continue ongoing projects and launch new ones, meant to improve infrastructure and living conditions for citizens.

At a meeting with local officials in Stefan Voda, the speaker said that, through the European Village II programme, 19 new projects would be implemented in the district, in addition to the 30 projects already completed under the European Village I and European Village Express programmes.

“We expect a year full of work. We must continue infrastructure projects throughout the country, ensure economic growth and stay anchored in the European agenda. We will do it together, working hand in hand with our mayors and citizens,” said Igor Grosu.

Today, the speaker also visited the village of Popeasca, where more important investments have been made. The most recent project concerns the access road to the locality and the rehabilitation of a segment of the district road, works carried out through the Europe is Close programme. The programme was launched this year, and so far, approximately 60 roads have been rehabilitated nationally.

In Popeasca, other projects have also been implemented: the rehabilitation of the Community Centre, the arrangement of a leisure space with a playground and summer stage, the reconstruction of the mini-football field and the town hall is set to be repaired.

Igor Grosu emphasized that these investments proved how the authorities were building Moldova's European path through concrete projects that directly benefit local communities.
